About 60 to 80 percent of people have herpes simplex type 1, when up to 30 years. Most are around the mouth area, but some of the genital area. 10 to 20 percent of type-2 at this age, most of the genitals. Most people with herpes infections have never or rarely symptoms and do not even know they have it.

Herpes infections are rarely a problem during pregnancy, except in cases of genital warts attack if you give birth, in which case you should let your gynecologist know. Sometimes a new (primary) infection can lead to problems for the fetus.

Herpes is very common and serious problems during pregnancy are very rare.

If you ever get a cold sore, then you have herpes (probably type 1). This is thea good thing if you want to be pregnant, because you know you will not receive a primary (new) of this infection during pregnancy.
